me which were useless.
I then deemed it my duty
to forward a copy of the "Notes of Interview" to
the firm.
This is supposed to have caused friction,
yet had the Government decided to take action
against the Architects, I venture to suggest
that these "Notes of Interview" and the fact
that they had been forwarded to the firm would
have been appreciated by His Majesty's Legal
Advisers, and it is the fact that at that time
the Government of Hongkong contemplated taking
action against the Architects.
Unfortunately, when the matter was submitted
to H.M. Legal Advisers, it was considered that the
Court would deem the delay of two years and two
months caused by Mr. Chatham as unreasonable.
As regards the last clause on these "Notes
of Interview" this really meant that the ridges from
the gables of the building would have a fall of
Beveral feet to the main foof.
A more ludicrous farce it would be impossible
to imagine had this scheme been carried out.
Indeed.
no less than eight gables around the building were
proposed to be constructed in such a manner.
I would comment that a cording to my duties
as they have been presented to you, I should have allowed the construction of these eight ridges to
be carried out.
